Fighting against skin sagging, lack of radiance, fine lines, enlarged pores, and unsightly blemishes… thanks to the innovative technology of Led Serenity by Yperion, which maintains and restores the health of your skin.
SERENITY is a device based on LED (Light Emitting Diode) technology.
THE IMPACT OF LIGHT ON THE SKIN
Reminder of the composition of light Reminder: Light is an electromagnetic complex just like UV, IR, radio waves, X-rays, and gamma rays. Each color has a specific wavelength.
White light is composed of a multitude of colors or wavelengths ranging from approximately 400 to 800 nm.
Light carries energy in the form of particles called photons. Each wavelength has a type of photon that oscillates and moves in a very specific way.
One type of photon = One wavelength A type of photon = A wavelength
A wavelength = A color if it is located in the visible spectrum. A wavelength = A color if it is located in the visible spectrum.
The actions of light on the dermis
The light applied to the skin penetrates the skin tissues. Each wavelength has a different penetration power.
The longer wavelengths (800 nm) penetrate the skin more deeply than the shorter ones (400 nm).
On the other hand, the photons of shorter wavelengths have much higher energy than those of longer wavelengths. Thus, X-rays and gamma rays tend to ionize atoms and damage living tissues.
Similarly, UV rays tend to alter the structure of certain cellular components and are thus responsible for many skin cancers.
IR and visible waves have much lower energy and do not have such side effects. It is now commonly accepted that IR and certain wavelengths of the visible spectrum have a beneficial effect on the body, particularly on the skin tissue.
LEDs are electronic components that produce a specific electromagnetic wave (a type of photon) when stimulated by an electric current. If the emitted wavelength falls within the visible spectrum (between 400 and 800nm), then the emission will be visible. It could be an emission of blue, yellow, red, or green color depending on the wavelength. If the emission is not within the visible spectrum, the emitted beam will be invisible. That’s the case for IR.
LEDs produce low-energy electromagnetic emissions and are athermal (no heat production).
THE OPERATION OF THE SERENITY DEVICE
THE OPERATION OF THE SERENITY DEVICE
The SERENITY device is composed of 2160 LEDs distributed as follows:
- 720 LED IR (invisible)
- 1440 bicolor LEDs (BLUE / RED)
LED and Serenity device
These LEDs are distributed across 3 panels (3x 720 diodes) articulated with each other to adapt to all areas to be treated. They illuminate simultaneously or alternately depending on the selected program in order to act on a specific skin target.
Their lighting frequency is very high. Thus, they turn on and off several hundred times per second. This rhythm is very fast and visually gives the impression of continuous lighting. The ignition frequency is important for obtaining clinical results. A wrong frequency will not yield results.
The important parameters to consider in an LED device are therefore:
- The wavelengths used
- The ignition frequency
- The light intensity
- The duration of the treatment
- The ignition sequence (color sequence)
MODE OF ACTION on the skin
The waves emitted by the SERENITY device and that penetrate the skin tissues are absorbed by particles called chromophores. The most well-known chromophores are melanin, hemoglobin, and water.
However, other chromophores such as cytochrome C, porphyrin, flavins, and other molecules located in cell walls or mitochondrial walls can absorb these waves. The light energy is then converted into a form of energy.
